Yasmin, We will miss you

Yasmin has left us. Yasmin Ahmad passed away here at about 11.25pm, Saturday 26th July 2009.
WHAT HAPPENED:
Just after 3pm Thursday July 23: Yasmin Ahmad collapses while making a presentation at TV3, Seri Pentas. Pop diva Datuk Siti Nurhaliza and her husband Datuk Khalid Mohd Jiwa who were in the room try to help. Siti, a former ambassador for the Malaysian Red Crescent Society, administer CPR. “She had started the presentation at 3pm and when she did not feel so good, sat down and placed her head on a table.”
Around 3.30pm: “A panel doctor from Sri Pentas came to assist and while she gave Yasmin mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, I helped with the chest compressions until the ambulance arrived,” Siti says.
3.45pm: Ambulance arrives with Yasmin at the nearby Damansara Specialist Hospital. On arriving at the hospital, Yasmin shows some response.
4.00pm: Doctors manage to revive Yasmin Ahmad
5.00pm: Yasmin undergoes brain surgery after suffering a stroke to relieve bleeding in the brain. She previously suffered a stroke about five years ago.
6.30pm: Operation completed and she was reported to be in a stable but critical condition. Yasmin is on life support machine in ICU.
7.00pm: At an emergency press conference, Yasmin’s brother-in-law Datuk Dr Zakaria Zahari, a paediatric surgeon, says Yasmin is in stable but critical condition. “Her heart is being supported by drugs to control blood pressure…the next few hours are extremely important but now she is stable even though she is still unconscious.” Mercy Malaysia president Datuk Dr Jemilah Mahmood drives the press conference and advises hundreds at hospital to disperse and go home and pray for her. 7.30pm: Many fans gather at nearby mosque in Taman Tun to pray for her.
9.30pm: Yasmin is till unconscious and her parents Inom Yon and Ahmad Hashim *Pak Atan) arrive from Langkawi. Her maiden film effort ‘Rabun’ was inspired by the lives and love of Mak Inom and Pak Atan.
Friday, July 14, 7.30am: Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes, amongst the hundreds of Facebook comments from her fans, adds: “Please all pray for my beloved and most wonderful friend yasmin ahmad. She is the best . I am in shock and numb . Malaysia needs her!”Adoi Updates:

I chatted with her in the office just before lunch, with Ali and Kien. And it was such a shock when we got the news a few hours later. Such is life’s unpredictability. All our prayers are with her…

Malaysia has lost one of the biggest talent in advertising and film. I’m glad I was able to make it for her ‘Solat Jenazah’ this morning, before her burial.
