indeed, let's continue the debate:

a social media metric of customer value based on impressions?

ack, sounds like the same old-style, traditional media mindset to me.

i would ask virtue where are the meaningful metrics of delivering real business value in the equation? how about some sense of influencer value, etc?

i see no virtue in virtue's analysis.

Kak Min was the first person that gave me a taste in advertising. And our meeting was a one in a million chance. 3 years ago, I was on my way to accept an offer from a well-known agency but I stopped halfway to go to Leo Burnett instead. I don't know why but it was a pivotal moment in my career. I went up with my portfolio and told the receptionist that I had an interview with this person and at this specific time (but I didn't know anyone there). After a flurry of questions asked by the receptionist regarding my fake interview, she asked me to take a seat. At this point, I knew I was going to get caught and I should just pack up and leave. But in a split second, from the escalator, came Ali and Kak Min herself. I didn't think and got up and chased after her. I told her, I didn't know anyone there and I have no interview but I asked if she can have a look at my portfolio. She looked at me and said " You don't know anyone and you don't have an interview? You got balls, come let's talk."

The rest was history. And I will forever remember that day for as long as I live, how kind of a person she is.

It is indeed a privilege to have been acquainted with Kak Min and also having the opportunity to work with her in all her international award-winning films. Kak Min was a talented and creative director and not to mention how understanding she was during working with her in the post production works of all her films. All of us in Gaya Lab enjoyed doing her films. Kak Min, we will miss you dearly. May you continue to shine a light on us from your rightful place among the pantheon of GODS.

She inspired me with 'One little Indian boy'. Since then I wanted to be an ad man. I dreamed of working with her, and I did.

She showed me what integrity is, what love is, what being a true Malaysian is, what it means being colour blind and how we can leave things to God.

I am grateful to have known Min and to share part of my life with her.

Miss you, Min- lover of love and life. You're a diamond that shone on my life brightly, albeit briefly.

She felt with her heart. I remember walking the streets of Bali with her and Adrian Miller. We shared so many things including our love for poetry. She was so full of life, so unpretentious. She had so much positive energy, you could feel it. I always felt some of her earlier works deserved better local awards. Perhaps some of the foreign judges didn't get the nuances she captured so beautifully...well Yazmin thanks for being such an inspiration.

Today a local Malay tabloid,KOSMO! print a front page apology to Yasmin's family for publishing an insensitive article about our darling ad genius. When I read the article published on Monday, July 27 2009, front page I was shocked beyond believe! Appaled! How could a paper who claimed to be 'akhbar yang dekat dengan masyarakat' be so insensitive to Yasmin's family by publishing such articles in their times of bereavement. Damage is already done. Its a little too late to apologize. The editor should be intelligent enough to think before publishing such insensitive article. Yasmin has contributed a lot to the country through her creative work. Such articles are totally DISRESPECTFUL. SHAME ON YOU FOR PUBLISHING SUCH INSENSITIVE ARTICLE KOSMO!!!
